Can I microneedle over filler?
Yes, however I like to wait the minimum required time of two weeks after filler (including Botox and similar) to do any serious microneedling (deeper than .5mm). You can use a light cosmetic needle (.25 mm) over filler areas. Tread lightly, but you should not have any issues with a light treatment.
You can use a MESOLYFT microneedle over any filler. The deeper needles and "stamps" should be avoided for at least two weeks.
How deep should my microneedle be?
.25mm | .50mm | .75mm| 1.0+mm
That's really dependent upon what you want to do. Here are a few simple guidelines:
- Light "cosmetic" needles (like Mesolyft, GloPro, etc.) are not meant to truly induce collagen production. They are more to help a little with collagen but essentially to provide micro-channels for product penetration. These are .25mm.
- Deeper needles, pens, and stamps (.5mm+) are meant to induce collagen growth. They are NOT meant for product penetration and application of product over a deep needle treatment (.75mm+) should be avoided. Needles .75mm and deeper are for medical needling.
The unique needles in the DN64 needle sets (ONE MILLION perforations possible!) are a little deeper than a cosmetic needling, but not a medical-level treatment so you can use them with the serum and get a nice collagen + serum boost! (See the sets I am talking about). These are in the "sweet spot" in between a cosmetic and medical needle--perfect to use at home for real results!
POST TREATMENT:
The Crystal Collagen masks, LED red light tool and either NeoGenesis Recovery or the Sculplla Promoter Cell Repair cream are all IDEAL products to use after a microneedling (.50mm and under).
They are reparative and soothing!
